Terry, I can send you 1/4" plugs cut from old upright keys. or plug the holes again and inlay a thin hardwood top plate. I'd be leary about routing out too large a section. I prefer to turn the capstans in rather than distress the wood fibers with pressing them. I mount the capstan in a hand chuck and spin the key until it's deep enough. This makes for a nice feel to the turn when you drill an appropriate size hole. -- Regards, Jon Page
