mortise inserts slideshow

Clear DayAny particular brand/type of dado you'd recommend. My early experience with wobblers turned me off to them and I've never used them since.
I assume you end up with a flat, machined, glue joint ready surface left behind by the dado. If that's the case I can see a future for them with me.
Thanks,
Fenton

Question: I know I could use a router instead of a dado blade for stock removal, but I just can't help but think of nasty tearout in that key with the dado set up. I assume you don't have that problem, do you use it simply for fast removal reasons?

  Hi Fenton,

I just recently tried out the dado for a set of balance hole inserts and found there was way less tear-out than with a router. I was very pleased; didn't even have to back the work up. You also have more options for the width by adding or subtracting dado shims.

  Nice work, Mike!

    Mike,
I figured out the slide show, I didn't scroll down far enough on the page. I'll be ordering soon off your site. Great photos, thanks for your time in this.
