It was an unmitigated disaster when a troubled youth, (and there seem to be some of them around), took a shot at an adult. The damage was permanent, though the accused had nothing against him but the word of a fourteen-year old. Acquittal didn't erase the suspicion and a career was ruined. The cost of being in the position to allow this to happen is totally out of scale for the profit of a tuning. Wearing tall boots in snake country isn't paranoia, imho.
