I've been tuning for a school district for nearly ten years. This year it's state law one has to have a name tag. Next year it's state law that anyone with "student contact" be fingerprinted. It's obviously "assumed guilt" until it absolutely can't be proven. Knowing a teacher put in the place of the "accused", and knowing no amount of insurance could save me if one kid decided to mark me, I dropped the district and a substantial part of my income. I can't afford to walk down a school hall. Pretty sad. les bartlett -----Original Message----- From: pianotech-bounces at ptg.org [mailto:pianotech-bounces at ptg.org] On Behalf Of A440A at aol.com Sent: Tuesday, February 12, 2008 8:23 PM To: pianotech at ptg.org Subject: Re: Held "Hostage" by Tiny Lookerson Mike writes: << I never suggest working in an empty home or arriving when the kids are there without mom but if they do, sure why not, >> Greetings, Why? It only takes one teenage girl/boy with anger/depression/hostility issues to falsely accuse you of molestation. You will instantly be arrested. In a court of law, it will be impossible to defend yourself completely against the word of a child, and even if you do, the legal fees will bankrupt you. You will NEVER again be free of suspicion and at worst, will find yourself listed as a sexual offender and life as you know it will be over. I haven't found a tuning yet that was worth even coming close to risking that.
