Yes, gravity is a law which may be defied, for a greater or lesser time, 
depending on materials used, logs, etc., but even the solid glue core 
lids will sag.

Short stick will cause both the most actual and most noticeable warp.

All wood lids will warp more than those with "other" cores.

Gravity _will_ win.
