Everclear works, but is unnecessarily expensive. Methanol works but is  
unnecessarily poisonous. Rubbing alcohol has perfumes and who knows what else  in 
it, as well as varying large amounts of water. Denatured is ju-u-u-ust  right.

I wasn't clear. I mean, of course, alcohol as a surfactant plus your  desired 
amount of water for shrinking, in varying proportions depending  upon the 
desired effect. Repeatable if it wasn't enough, but make sure it's  really dry 
before repeating
