Hi,
I use aluminum cases; I like the way they stack for hauling on my luggage cart (see October's Journal). A couple of mine are over twenty years old and were originially marketed as cam-corder cases. They cost more than the one listed below; I'm not sure how different in quality they are. I haven't had to have the clasps or hinges replaced, but I did have to have a new handle put on the first one fairly early on. At that time I was working at a music store that did band instrument repair, so I just took it to the instrument tech, who also repaired instrument cases.
I also use a couple cheaper ones that I got within the last few years--one from Harbor Freight another from Home Depot, for some specialized stuff, so I don't open them as often. I like the way my stuff fits in them, how they fit in my van, and they fit neatly in a relatively small space in my house when I've unloaded them from the van for the night.

Hi,
I used this same case for a few years, I found the hinges gave out on the top rather quickly especially if you put tools in the pockets rovided for same, followed by the d-ring attachments on the side where the shoulder strap attaches.
