Speaking of old DCs (What to do with....)

The thing to watch with the old dc systems is brittle A/C cords.  The  old 
ones can get so brittle, the insulation cracks, which can cause short  circuits 
or electric shocks.  So it that A/C wire is stiff, its getting  worn out.
