Maybe. The musical quality of the note will be no better than the wire.
A bad V-bar shape, or a loose bridge pin MAY cause the note to have unwanted
or missing partials, but not always. However, A bad piece of wire will not
sound good, regardless of the rest of the system.
Or to say it otherways, I would rather have a good piece of wire on a
poor notch than a poor piece of wire on a good one.
