Peeling paint on Samick plate

Hmmm. I understand the use of K for Korean, and the use of J, (10), as "0".
However, I don't understand the use of K, (11), as "1". J as October makes
sense. Seems like even the code is in code.

Thanks.

Translation of Samick serial number:

Ignore the initial K (for Korea). The JK is 2001. The next J is October,
then G for Grand.

I was called to work on a Bernhard Steiner piano today. Bernhard Steiner is
currently owned by Samick. I think the piano was made in 2001 but the
decoding of the serial number doesn't make sense, (KJKJG0141). Wouldn't KJKJ
be 1011/1011?
