String coils affect stability?

Hi Richard,

I have a tool that is a captive hammer (think of a dent puller for a car).
It has a lip that I can slide under coils to lift them on one end and a
hole that fits over the tuning pin at the other. The holy end is cut on a
slant so it rests on top of the coil.

To test I play the note with the dampher pedal down and then give the coil
a whack with the coil setter.
