Problem -- have you ever seen this?

I have a customer with a Petrov upright, about 7 years old. The problem is
in the bass section. When you play C3 loudly with the sustaining pedal down,
you hear a bit of the B next to it. The problem is NOT caused by the hammer
being misaligned and striking part of the B bass string - -the hammer is nowhere
near the B string. In fact, BOTH strings of the B note are vibrating when
the C note is played loudly. I've never seen this problem or heard of it in all
my years in business. Any ideas?
