Hi folks

Here is a link to the calculations for what happens to downbearing,
tension, frequency for a given string deflection. Included is one
example from a hypothetical string. Note that though the move from 1 to
2 mm deflection does account for a 21 cent change in pitch, the cost is
a downbearing force of 8 lbs for a single string. You can run these
basic calculations on any string length /diameter etc. and look for your
self what happens.

Anyone who wants the spreadsheet I have to do this can have it, just
send me a note
