Of the dozens I've done, I only remember dropping tension on 
one that, like Terry mentioned, had been repeatedly tuned as 
the gap widened to, in this case, about 1/2". The whole job 
takes about, or just under, an hour if the block is bare on 
top, and can be tuned at pitch immediately after.
