Sorry you had problems, Dave. Too bad you didn't let me know so I could help you. I will be in Kansas City with a selection of earplugs that people who attend my class can try out. Some of the ones I will have will inclulde the proplugs that I sell, the ZEM hearing protector recommended by Hans Troost in the PTG Journal article from last June, a variety of foam earpllugs, some silicone ones. I am graduating from school as a Hearing Instrument Specialist day after tomorrow. Soon I will have custom musicians plugs available at conventions too. At the moment what I can say in comparing them is that the frequency response on the proplugs and the musicians earplugs with a 15dB filter is almost identical. The advantage to the proplugs is their cost (much easier to replace if they get lost). My husband manages to need a new pair every year, mine last me 4-5 years. Hope to see some of you in KC!
