False Beats in the Temperament Section

Try putting a screwdriver on the bridge pin as you play the single  string. 
If the false beat stops you probably have a loose pin and applying a  couple of 
drops of thin CA glue usually works. Or maybe the wire is bad or  kinked.
Try replacing a string. It's not always the cause of a false beat,  but you 
have nothing to lose. And you will have practiced your string repair  skills.
