Terry,

Have you checked with Jurgen @ Pianoforte Supply?

Dave and John, thank you. Pianotek does indeed have ecsaine - although it is not in their catalog. But they don't have any felt designed to be used in a grand backcheck (or at least they are not aware of it).

Does anyone know what type of felt to use to rebuild the grand backcheck?

Pianotek sells ecsaine and had samples at the convention in KC. Looks and feels like leather.

I will be rebuilding a set of grand backchecks. I seem to remember a recent discussion on escane (sp?) instead of leather - is this good - is this available - where? Or, if not, who recommends leather from where? Also, I don't see grand backcheck felt in the Pianotek catalog - what kind of felt is used under the leather?

I searched the archives, but came up empty.
