Should I tackle this job or should I high tail it and run? I appreciate any and all responses, suggestions, and experiences good and bad. Thanks to all. Steven Since you are in a win win situation, i would strongly suggest you apply CA glue to a section of the piano ,let it sit for 36 hours, and see if it works. I have been amazed at the results I have had with pianos such as you describe. I personally do not think pinblock restoration and all new strings is worth the investment.
