hammer felt separated

Ms. Barry,
If you invested in key-clamp springs and brass plates to glue ivory
back down with, you have an ideal hammer felt clamp. The springs
work well to hold the felt down after applying a little trim and
molding glue (the thick stuff that doesn't run/impregnate felt). If
both ends are off you can glue one side first a little tight of
center and then when you glue and clamp the second side down you've
re-introduced a little "tension". Not that it seems to matter much
in the spinets I've done it to.
