Ms. Barry, If you invested in key-clamp springs and brass plates to glue ivory back down with, you have an ideal hammer felt clamp. The springs work well to hold the felt down after applying a little trim and molding glue (the thick stuff that doesn't run/impregnate felt). If both ends are off you can glue one side first a little tight of center and then when you glue and clamp the second side down you've re-introduced a little "tension". Not that it seems to matter much in the spinets I've done it to.
