Is it? > Ron N Hi Ron, I think it's not cross strung but what's called semi-oblique because the treble strings aren't parallel to the bass ones. Harding shows a section from an 1839 patent page 244 where the resisting bars go through the bridge, you can see the recesses in the detail photo.
