Hi Marcel,

Thank you for sharing what you can. I completely respect your honoring the confidentiality of the situation. I had heard that Zimmerman was a technician before becoming a major concert artist. Good for him for bridging the two worlds and with such great success.

Regards,

Hello Mr.Eder.
I just came back tonight from a concert of K.Zimmerman and G Kremer. I tuned his German D # 784 with the original action, and he played with his own action in the piano. This is his own made action, one of a kind, very unique and top secret. No cameras allowed in the hall. I have seen his program and I am not allowed to tell more than that. The sound of his action is unbelieveble!.He played with the same piano in US and Canada . (Québec city, here) In Asia he play a second piano German D always the same, with the same action. In Europe, he play his own piano with 3 differents actions, he made for him. He is a real genius, both musically and mécanically. He is unique in the world of pianist. He is also an acoustician of top level.
Sorry but I cannot tell more, everything else is confidential.
Greetings from Canada.

Hi List,

Two people have gone out of their way in as many days to tell me about pianist Krystian (sp?) Zimmerman (sp?) installing his own action into an S&S "D" just hours prior to performing and then voicing it (supposedly) "to the room" based on feedback from a program on his laptop. Anybody know more details? Does he always get the same piano, or one of two or three that are similar enough that the same action can de adapted to each of them? What's special about his action? What program is he running?

Inquiring minds want to know,
