My knowledge is *not* authoritative -- but -- my understanding was the Krystian Zimmerman transports his own Steinway D, and has two actions for it. I assume, depending on the hall and the repertoire, he'd select the most appropriate one. I don't know what "the program" would be -- possibly something the RCT Pianalyzer -- a spectrum analyzer, possibly giving db readings as well?
