I basically do what John Ross does except I put a drop of CA thin glue at both ends of the keytop, one under the head and one under the tail, waiting till it sets achieving an initial placement. BUT, make sure its only a drop and don't get any on the top of the keytop. In case you do, it can be buffed off.
