Just tuned a small Feurich (5'8") today. New one, nicely built small piano with a nice scale. Too bad they put hammers on that are too hard and not that great but that's another issue. The bass strings are looped with the European loop but have only one loop that goes over the hitch pin rather than 2 that you see in the so called "Jolly Loop". The tails do turn down against the plate but I was under the impression that the double looping was necessary, or at least desirable, on bass strings. There is no problem on this piano with the bass strings holding tune so what's the deal? Why bother with two loops when one will do just fine? David Love davidlovepianos at comcast.net
