Everyone, I want to express publicly my thanks and gratitude to Barbara Richmond, RPT. I am from Romania. Through her kindness I was able briefly after first time hearing about CA pinblock glueing on the list to 'treat' flawlessly an upright. Due to full understanding of procedure and thoroughly explains she gave me I did it like I was doing it for years. Here, the usual local method is to insert thin strips of beech veneer in the decalibrated pinblock holes. As I turned to find out, the CA glueing is much more better. I tuned the upright two times after. One immediately, in one hour, taking note of a sudden and major improvement in it's tune holding (which, by the way, was previously gone), when I felt the pins a little "gluey" regarding their rotation. Second one, two days after, when that improvment almost doubled, much more stiffness I found on the pins (one might benefit from this link --> www.woodweb.com/knowledge_base/Cyanoacrylate_adhesive.html). This time I was very satisfied with the result. The pins were beautiful tight but not harsh stubborn. A tuning with that superb tranquility in unisons and octaves, when stable, no more beats occuring, was possible even in the sixth to seventh octave. I played it with great delight. My success goes to you Barbara! When I'll be able to attend a first class tuition (school) in piano repairing and restoring (not in my country), I will do it without a blink. Until then, if ever, help like this one will remain a prove that God takes care. I thank you again, Barbara! Claudiu __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam?
