I went to itunes and listened to some excerpts..the 4th piece, Sonata #2 in Bflat minor I, Allegro Agitato has some interesting pedaling going on as Lang Lang gets agitated...anyone have an explanation for what I'm hearing? Sounds like dampers slightly on the strings?...is that an example of half pedaling? I'm always glad to see our craft represented like this for the public's edification. Also, from time to time, piano technicians are given credit on album liners - which I think should be more prevalent. In fact, I saw Barbara Renner (subject of article 1)shown and named on one CD recently, I think it was a McCoy Tyner album. Too cool. Chuck Christus, RPT Thanks from me, too, Jack...ever since I heard the first Lang Lang record (Live at Seiji Ozawa Hall on Telarc records) Ive wondered who and where Barbara Pease Renner was. She and her husband, Jack, a recording engineer, made what I feel is one of the best sounding solo acoustic piano records ever.....its great to fill in her story. What a great piano technician. Does anybody know if shes ever been in the PTG? Listen to that record, kids.....what a sound..... David Andersen -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
