First thing you should have checked was if the strings were level or evenly spaced. Sometimes lifting to level or pushing sideways to space helps. If that didn't work then slice into the felt to insure deeper seating. It could be that it requires an underlever assist spring for the superior damping you're shooting for. Charge a minimal amount as though you nailed it the first time and chalk it up to experience. After all, it was an elected not requested. -- Regards, Jon Page
