I drive a Pontiac Vibe as my working car. Love it and get over 30 mpg hauling lots of tool boxes etc. No problems.

And of course the Toyota Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe are the same car. We bought a Matrix when they first came out in '02. At that time there weren't many at the dealers and we had to wait for two months for it to arrive. I remembered that back in the 80's, the Chevy Nova was actually a Toyota Corrola, but the Chevy was cheaper. When I looked into the Vibe, though, it was actually more expensive than the Toyota.

  Fenton,

Take a look at the Pontiac Vibe. I recently purchased one and it big enough for a Grand or Upright action and than some. Both back seats fold down and so does the front passenger seat. The sticker says it will get 36 miles to the gallon but of course that is on ideal situations. I am averaging around 32 miles to the gallon.

  List,

The Volvo wagon has 165K and is eating too much money between gas and maintenance. BTW, you better be charging at least as much as your mechanic. I'm researching my next vehicle and wondering if a Toyota Prius could actually work. Naturally, critical is the ability to transport a grand or upright action. I would be so grateful for any techs using one to let me know how they like it, can you fit an action in there on top of your tools? I've looked in them and they seem pretty big, not like my Volvo wagon. But, I am willing to scale down some and I sure could dig 45 MPG. Or, any other vehicles that get high mileage, second choice for me right now is a Subaru Outback, great car but more dough and only mid 20's MPG.
