thanks for all the response; I have another job tomorrow, and I am going to rummage through my kids swimming gear-I know one of them has a pair of swimming goggles... I will report back. I have been using a fan, but to no avail; but I have put the fan behind me, hoping to blow the fumes away from my face in that direction. so tomorrow I will try from the side.
