I've been following this bit of ???
I believe it to be a good policy, NOT to sell to the general public and non PTG members, unless you can be assured that they REALLY know what they are doing. It has been my policy for over 30 years. Yes, I've ticked off a few, but I just won't be a party to "do-it-yourself" piano work or "schlock" types, screwing up my beloved pianos, in my area. The same goes for selling "tuning kits" to the general public, etc. It just isn't a good idea, unless you can have some "control" over the situation, IMO. This sort of thing gives us ALL a "black eye".
Just my 1/2 cents worth of opinion. (That's all I've got left after filling up my automobile!)

Avery,

Why not? I'm not responsible for how he uses them, and there's nothing
irreversible - no harm done.

I charged retail just like I would if any Joe Blow wanted a string. :-)

Well, John.

I'm sorry but I can't help but ask. Why did you continue to sell them
to him????
Just wondering.
