Action Center Wood Repairs

Had a damper flange and a couple hammer butt action centers with terminal wood damage. 1890s Chickering upright - a little odd parts - figured it was easier to fix than find replacements. Below is a picture of the damage.

The damper flange was too far gone, and a Schaff flange was an exact replacement except for the action center location.

Fortunately, EPOXY MAN came to the rescue (and thank goodness there was a phone booth nearby)!

West System #105 Epoxy Resin, #205 Fast Hardener, their two-step bonding method, and #404 High Density Adhesive Filler were used.

Below is a picture of the final fix. All told, may have taken a half-hour. But I think it is a good fix for hard-to-replace action parts. Even if replacement parts were available, it still may have been a faster fix (although not one to do in a customer's home).
