It all depends on what you are used to. If you are accustomed to the crash, buzz and distortion that a Steinway D can and often does deliver at the upper end, then you are not likely going to be satisfied with a Boes where the design tries to address some of that: larger cut off, heavier rib design, thicker panel. My experience is that a Boes doesnt lack power in the least but delivers it in a more controlled way that than, say, a Steinway D. Some people may not like that.
