Since we're on the subject of what vehicles can accommodate a grand action, thought I would relate that many, if not most typical sedans will. I have a 2000 Honda Accord (which is smaller than the current version). Here's how: Cut a piece of hefty plywood to the length from inside of one door in the back seat to the inside of the other door, just above the arm rests. Make it as wide as you can before it hits an obstructing part of the arm rests (if any). To install, roll down the window of one of the back doors, place the action carrying board on the opposite arm rest, hold it up above the arm rest closest to you (you do this through the open window) and close the door you are standing at (at which you are standing, for all of you grammar buffs). Through that open window and onto the action carrying board will go a "D" action. It's easy to put in with two people and totally possible by one's self. With the front seats slide all the way forward, angle one end of the key frame onto the board and slide the rest in. Once the action is in, slide the front passenger seat back to secure it in place. I added a 2x2 to the underside of the board so that it may be securely mounted in a Workmate (which stows behind one of the front seats) to create an additional sturdy work surface in a client's home. Another benefit of this approach is that you can put things on the back seat under the action board (preferably BEFORE stowing the action). A moving pad on top of the action creates more storage space, as long as you're mindful of the hammers. This took only a few dollars and a few minutes to make. Now I never have to borrow my wife's station wagon to transport a grand action. Cheers, Alan Eder, RPT
