Terry,
Custom "Art-Cases" were often ordered by the
wealthy clients who could afford a Duo-Art reproducer.
That's what it probably is, and in an imaginative
mish-mash- of styles that somehow still "works", as
you will see in plenty of 1920's stuff, such as movie
palaces.
I'd call this one "Jacobean" ( stretchers and
legs) meets "Art-Deco" ( desk ). Or "Jacobeo".
It was also probably a lot darker, when new.
