I notice in the pictures that the action rails and the key-bed rails 
are mounted to the plate.  Looks like a very stable configuration 
regulation wise.  Problem with most uprights today is that the 
key-bed and therefore the action moves with the weather.  Lothar 
Schell has a similar innovation in that the action and the back rail 
are mounted to the plate.  The two front ones still move with the 
weather, arguably to little effect with the back of the keys stabilized.

It look like the Rippen was a piano with potential.  Other than the 
old plastic parts, everything looks good.  Plastic, or was that 
Carbon Fiber, is making a come-back nowadays. ;-)
