I have just read your Journal article.  Interesting that tonal life of =
piano wire is 20 to 25 years...
I should say that I don't have breaking string problems with pianos tha=
t are only 40 to 50 cents flat.  Its the -100+ pianos that cause proble=
ms and then usually only a string or two...often a bass string or in th=
e high treble.

Hence, the reason for my article, PTJ, Dec.99 I spent a lot of time "tw=
eaking" that "program" and find it is less abusive to strings, as it is=
 designed to NOT exceed Breaking Strengths and still get stable results=
.
