---------------------- multipart/alternative attachment Hi, Usually if any at all makes it around the corner it is only at the inside edge of the flange. I have found most of them to be a clean fit unless there are 'dips' at the edge in the pinfield. In my experience the little bit if deflection has not altered the fit. You are also correct in stating that the screws should be used. I left out that detail. I use screws and the clamps to be sure nothing moves. Thanks for the correction! I think it is equally important that the block be fitted to not only the flange, but also to the underside of the block. I have seen an extremely well done flange/block fit go out the window when the screws were tightened. This is because the block has been "warped" to the underside of the pinfield and the distortion alters the flange fit. If using epoxy to fit a flange, I suggest that the block be held in place with the screws instead of clamps, but before any of this, make sure the block fits under the pinfield as well as the flange. A poorly fitted block is responsible for 1 cracked plate in a Steinway B that I know of.
