Paint recommendations for sharps?

Pianotech sells a sharp black stain.  A couple of drops in a small vial of
alcohol and apply  Then clear lacquer over the sharps for protection.  This
finish does not wear off like paint, as it stains the wood.  Also you can
still see the ebony wood grain a bit so Terry would like it.
