Refined tallow was used as a lubricant in the "old days".  It was=20
actually be used on key pins, applied extremely sparingly to create=20
only a film on the key pins.   In Germany, the preferred form is=20
refined moose tallow, which is sold as a hand balm.  I actually carry=20
it with me for use on pedals and trapwork.  And chapped hands.  If you=20=
