I've just been working on a piano that had some chucky keys. Some could
be fixed by glue-sizing, but 28 needed a kerfs cut and veneer inserted.
Whenever I've done this before I've just placed the kerf by hand and it
generally worked ok. This time I figured a way to put the kerf in
exactly the right spot. I put the key in the vice and inserted a
balance rail pin and held it firmly to the back of the hole. I then put
the saw right against the pin and started the cut. Each of these came
out exactly right with no chucking and the keys lined up perfectly.

I'm probably the last one in the world to discover this, but it worked!
