I haven't thought of scrutinizing that dimension.
I'll check on the next set for finer hair-splitting.
As long as the knuckles were squarely pressed in I assumed that 
radius to be uniform.

I think it would be a little hard to accurately measure the notch but 
a jig could be
constructed to determine if the core is square and the bottom (arc) 
of the knuckle
is centered or uniform for that dimension.

But it might be an exercise in futility since probably the main cause 
for this knuckle
displacement would be at the flange rail.
