Well, I'm off to bed early, so here's the answer: Remove the fuzz, lint, =

junk from under the key fronts and, in a couple of cases, a paper =
punching
as well. A little more dip solved the problem. I didn't remove any butts =
but
they acted like they are pretty "dimpled." The jacks just wanted a =
little
more after touch to clear. Rail may have settled back some and, of =
course
it's worn and compressed. But I didn't want to have to redo all the
capstans, etc.=20

I confess it's a field repair for when you don't really care... But it's =
one
step up from the county dump.=20

Anyway many hammers bububububbling. Lost motion not bad, letoff kinda =
okay,
checking not very good, etc., etc., etc.

But the fix was easy and quick. Think about worn parts, the general
untidiness of these old beaters, and basic upright geometry...
