Allergies result in asthma attacks.  When I lived in Houston, mold capitol
of the world, every other breath I took was through my inhaler.  The same
was true for one of my roommates.  ;-)

Having said that, I doubt there is enough air exchange in a closed system to
be problematic, even if some mold grows in the system.  If she has a grand,
she'll want a bottom cover.  She may also need a volunteer to do any
cleaning/changing for her.
