How to apply graphite?

Robin,

I think I didn't describe the action correctly. That wooden board which =
has regulating screws in it, is completely covered witha long piece of =
leather, which has slits so that each screw can push just a part of it =
to let the jack escape. It's a Pleyel action.
So there is no wood/wood or wood/metal contact, becaus ethe leather is =
between them and still in decent condition.
So what should I run from?
