Knabe Plate and Stretcher

1957. As it turns out the horizontal cap of the stretcher that
overhangs the plate is glued onto the vertical stretcher. With a sharp
chisel I was able to break the glue joint (sort of) and remove the cap.
Had I been more patient I suppose I could have wicked in some wall paper
remover/water mix and allowed the glue to soften and removed it rather
easily in one piece. But hey, I'm the "I want it now" generation. So
I'll be making a new cap. But it's a pretty simple unadorned piece of
wood. It would have so much easier just to screw it on.
