Hi All,

Today I performed the mundane task of replacing bridle straps in a 15 year
old Kawai that had been visited by a little rodent who decided to build his
nest from the cotton in said straps. In the process, I used a couple of
suggestions from Kawai's Andrew Thomas (the voice at the other end of the tech
support line).

1. Use "Simple Green" to break the glue bond.

2. Remove the catchers (and do subsquent cleaning, strap-sizing, and
re-gluing.

Both suggestions worked quite well. It was still a tedious series of tasks,
but in the end the job was done right, AND I had a little rag with simple
green on it close by to clean the glue off of my hands.

Simple Green(found in most grocery stores) is a welcome option for those of
us with an aversion to using toxic chemicals like wallpaper remover in this
sort of repair.

I used it full strength.

Thought y'all might like to know,

Dave Stahl
