I've met a few standard grands which have the same thing, and I wish many more did. So, this is the Unsinkable Molly Brown's piano. Here's one square which will never be usable as a Boat Anchor (or Beau D'Ahnker, as Larry Fisher used to put it.) It sounds like you didn't have the oblong tuning pins to tangle with, which is lucky. Extremely fortunate that it was sharp instead of grossly flat. Glad it all went so well. Susan
