Did you say, push pin back in?
Might I suggest, that replacing the pin with a larger size, after reaming and polishing the bushed hole, is a more permanent repair.
You didn't fix the problem, as the pin is still loose.
Not that I never did, what you did. :-)

List, especially newbies to the world of home piano service,

Take heart! Keep at it! You won't always have to drive 8,000 miles for a spinet store tuning. Actually, it doesn't seem like that long ago.....

Today was somewhat different, and what I am seeing on a regular basis:

Job one, tune two pianos(a Kawai baby grand and a Yamaha P2, both in decent tune) at a teacher's house
45 minute break at Peet's Coffee to swill some brew, talk to my son on the phone and call assorted clients (a sordid client??)
  drive three miles
Job two, Seiler upright, right at pitch, no meddling necessary with action.
15 minute break, drive 5 miles
Job three, Walter console at pitch, regular client; touch up lost motion and let-off
on my way home go to
Job four, PSO Karl Muller upright. Regular client. Pushed pin back through jack and flange to fix dead key, touched up lost motion. At pitch, tuned.

Here's the kicker: total drive time? Around 30 minutes, not one job being more than 7 miles from my home! Less drive time between jobs is huge in terms of lowering stress in a congested metropolitan area.

Here's to many more of these for all of us(without the Karl Muller, perhaps!)

Dave Stahl, feeling somewhat relaxed after such a small amount of road time and a glass of Shiraz
