| time or they had some pretty tight radii cut into them - the ribs had quite
| a bit of crown on them after removing them from the panel.

Rib crowning was pretty common by the early 1900s. See Wolfenden's "A Treatise
on the Art of Pianoforte Construction." (I know you know that but the subject
does keep coming up.)
