Damper trimming

Hello Keith
I read somewhere, in a Steinway oriented book, that the split and wedge
dampers should not be allowed to project behind/under the strings and should
be trimmed to comply with this requirement. It was called "winking".... ;-)
I wonder if there's a pair of wide centre-pin cutters available...?
Somewhere...?
Regards from a sunny cool Sussex Downs village
